This is part 1 of a very special and personal interview with a VERY special guest, my therapist, Laura Skinner. My Journey to therapy started on July 4th 2021 when I found myself feeling completely lost, eyes covered in tears on what started as a normal drive home from the grocery store…yes me…mrs positive, mrs go-getter, mrs tough girl. I found myself thinking back to who I was as a kid and asking myself…”where has all my joy gone?!” For months prior I felt something was off… I read, I journaled, I listened to podcasts… but I still couldn’t pinpoint what it was…I had to admit at that moment.. I needed guidance. I didn’t know where to start and I truly felt like I had failed…but If I could see myself now..I would tell myself that this choice wasn’t a failure...but a massive investment in my future.

I hope you find these visuals as helpful as I have. And remember, there can be beauty in the breakdowns that help you reach new places you never thought possible. If you are interested in finding a therapist, I began my research on psychologytoday.com. You can also find out more about Laura and her team at navigatewhg.com. See you next week for part 2!!

Michelle

In this episode, I’m so freaking excited to share my personal journey through therapy with you all and my hope is that it inspires you to dive deeper into exploring yourself, breaks the stigma that therapy is only for the “broken” and that hearing my story helps you as much as it has grown me.

Grab a note book because you are not going to want to miss a beat of this one and LET'S GET LIMITLESS! What I’ve learned most of all is that when we share our knowledge and experience it can raise us up as an entire community. So if you’re in the beauty industry or just curious about the ins and outs, grab your notebook and let’s get limitless!

xoxo,

Michelle

"I think that people think therapy is for the mentally ill, the weak, or if you're crazy, when really therapy is an opportunity for somebody to hold space for your pain, for your parts" - Laura Skinner
